Love Hurts ....

A Guest Post today from   Yosef  Ben Shlomo  Ha'kohen   (added to & edited by me),   on what unsurprisingly is a big, big issue in Eretz Yisrael at the moment.   And,  Jews everywhere should be really, really concerned about the assault of Evengelical Christianity,  masquerading in friendship, whose sole desire is the Spiritual Destruction of Judaism & Am Yisrael !!!!

These 'christians' have swamped Israel in recent years with their covert agenda of conversion  & replacement theologies.   They 'love' Israel & Jews .... but NOT from any pure purpose of heart or desire for Judaism, or to see true Torah Law revived in Eretz Yisrael, but because they 'believe' they will see their supposed  'Mangod Messiah'  there.   So, it is self serving.   (Incidentally, they don't specify whether this will be after their celestial journey where they wil be "caught up in the clouds" on a 'high' flying expedition called the 'rapture' ~ remember last weekend's failed prediction!!)  But that is not even the most Dangerous aspect of this assault.  They believe that Jews will bow down to their invented imaginary 'Messiah Man'   in our holy Temple in Yerushalayim,  and they shall replace us as 'priests' in his service there. In our 'holiest of holy' places, the home of Ha'Shem in this world.   WHAT AN ABOMINATION !!!!!!!

They seek our conversion to their Idolatrous practices in direct contravention to Torah truth.  And, such "sharing" is against the LAW in Eretz Yisrael.  This law MUST be much more strictly enforced!!!!!!

Taken from Parsha Vayishlach .....

There have been articles in the media about the growing efforts of many Evangelical Christians to convert Jews in Israel and the Diaspora to Christianity.  These Christians also tend to be very supportive of the State of Israel, and this raises the following question ..... Should we be concerned over the fact that these supporters also seek our conversion?

According to a number of our Sages, an answer can be found in the Torah portion for this Shabbos, and I will begin with the insights of Rabbi Sh'muel Bornstein, a noted Chassidic sage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These insights are found in his work, Shem MiShmuel, which provides a commentary on the weekly Torah portion.

In his commentary on the Torah portion of this Shabbos ~ which describes the encounter between Yaakov and his brother, Eisav ~ Rabbi Bornstein discusses a deeper meaning of the following words from Yaakov's prayer to be saved from the harmful plans of his brother, Eisav .... "Save me, please, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Eisav." (Bereshit 32:12).

The following is a summary of Rabbi Bornstein's commentary .....

Why does Yaakov first refer to Eisav as "my brother" and then refer to him by name?  Some commentators explain that Yaakov was more frightened of Eisav as a brother and friend than as Eisav ~ the one known for his violence. This is because Yaakov was concerned that Eisav might attempt to become close to him in order to draw him to Eisav's harmful philosophy and distorted ways. This was potentially very dangerous to Yaacov and his family, for it could lead to the end of the spiritual mission to which Yaakov had dedicated his life.  We are therefore told that Yaacov primarily feared his "brother," and only then "Eisav."

This episode teaches us a great lesson. For the sake of our spiritual mission, we must try to emulate Yaakov and ensure that our priorities are correct in all eras of our history.  We must remember that spiritual life is always preeminent.    Throughout the generations, there were Jewish men and women who emulated Yaakov and who gave priority to the spiritual  raison d'etre of our people. They resisted all the attempts to convert them ....  thus, their spiritual priority helped to ensure the survival of our people!

The idea that Yaakov, our forefather, was first concerned about spiritual survival is also found in the Beis HaLevi ~ a commentary on the Torah by Rabbi Yosef Dov Ber Soloveitchik, a noted Lithuanian Jewish sage of the early 20th Century.   Regarding Yaakov's prayer to be saved "from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Eisav,"   Rabbi Soloveitchik points out that it would have been sufficient for Yaakov to say, "from the hand of my brother, Eisav." Why, then, did he refer to two hands ~ the hand of his brother and the hand of Eisav?   Rabbi Soloveitchik explains that Yaakov was concerned about two facets of Eisav's strategy ~ the hand of brotherhood and the hand of violence.  He first mentions the hand of brotherhood, for he recognized the serious danger posed by the "love" of Eisav when its goal is to wean Yaakov away from the right path.  Does anyone see the paralells here ????

Rabbi Soloveitchik cites the teaching, "All the actions of the forefathers are auguries for their descendants"   thus, the prayer of Yaakov,  our forefather, is relevant for each generation of our people.  Rabbi Soloveitchik points out that there are descendants of Eisav who deal with us in the same two ways as Eisav sought to deal with Yaakov.  Initially, they promulgate brutal decrees designed to convert, persecute and even destroy us; however, when HaShem, the Compassionate One,  does not allow them to eliminate our presence as a people, then they seek to live in peace with us.   Through this strategy, they hope to distance us from our path and our Judaism.

Rabbi Soloveitchik then cites various midrashim that describe how, in a later stage of our history, these descendants of Eisav will ask us to modify our tradition so as to lessen the distance between their religion and Judaism. Rabbi Soloveitchik explains that they will even adopt certain tenets of Judaism in order to tempt us to give up some of our heritage.

Who are these descendants of Eisav that will seek to tempt us in this way?  An answer can be found in the concluding passage of the Torah portion for this Shabbos, where we find a list of various rulers that descend from Eisav, including "the chief of Magdiel." (Bereshit 36:43) The classical commentator, Rashi, writes....  "Magdiel ~ this is Rome!" (cited in Pirkei D'Rabbi Eliezer 38)

According to Jewish tradition, Rome became the kingdom of Eisav, and the christian civilization, which became centered in Rome, is a continuation of this kingdom.  As Rabbi Soloveitchik reminded us, this kingdom of Eisav initially tries to convert us through force and when this fails, it will conspire to distance us from our way of serving HaShem by developing peaceful and brotherly relations with us.

In our day, for example, there are millions of Evangelical Christians proclaiming their "love" for us with the hope of persuading us to convert to Christianity.   They want us to follow them by abandoning our direct worship of HaShem and replacing it with a human intermediary that Christians deify.   Although there are also Christian denominations that no longer seek to convert us, the Evangelical Christian denominations are growing in numbers and influence.  In addition, some of these large denominations openly target Jews in their missionary work.  One of their methods is to start churches that preach the Christian doctrine, but which are disguised in "Jewish" garb in order to attract Jews.  For example, they call their churches "synagogues" moreover,  they incorporate some traditional Jewish prayers and customs into their service which are dedicated to the human intermediary that they have deified and whom they also view as the Messiah.

Our sacred scriptures record Divine promises indicating that they will not succeed in their missionary goal,   moreover,  instead of asking us to follow them,  they will seek to follow us.  For example, HaShem promised our people that in the messianic age, "nations will go to your light." (Yeshayah 60:3) . The following promise of Ha'Shem concerning this new age can serve as another example ....  "Thus said HaShem, G-d of the hosts of creation~  In those days, it will happen that ten men,  of all the languages of the nations, will take hold, they will take hold of the corner of the garment of a Jewish man, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard that G-d is with you.'" (Zekharyah 8:23)

In this age of universal enlightenment, the eternal message of our people will be vindicated, and the conflict with Eisav will finally be over, as it is written in the portion of the Prophets that we chant on this Shabbos .... "Then saviours will ascend Mount Zion to judge the mountain of Eisav, and the kingdom will be HaShem's." (Ovadiah 1:21.)   In his commentary on this messianic prophecy, Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch explains that our people will fulfill our mission to become the saviours of humankind, and he adds .... "They will go up to Mount Zion not as the 'saved' ones, but as the  "the bringers of salvation."

This will cause "Eisav" to realize that he has misjudged "Yaakov" and to finally recognize his brother's universal mission. As a result, states Rabbi Hirsch, "the fight between the brothers has come to an end ~ there is only one height on earth and that is Zion's height. And there is only one kingdom and that is the Kingdom of HaShem."

These IDOLATORS will NOT achieve their desired Destruction of Am Yisrael!!!!!

  1. They are not attempting to destroy anything! Only to complete you....God said "no man shall come to me except through my son". The day is very near when "every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father of Abraham, Issac and Jacob!

  2. Roy,

So as a Jew, I'm not a full person, then. I need to be "Completed" by christian conversion???

Do you know how offensive this is???

    ReplyDelete
  3. Btw, Roy, Hitler thought that too ... not 'complete' people. 'Sub-human' Jews. He devised a "Special Treatment" for us .... Gas Chambers!!!

  4. Roy, are you that weak in your faith in your corpse god that you need to try to assimilate Jews and seek their validation? Jews do not need xtians to validat Hashem or His Torah!

  5. It seems that xtians find themselves incomplete since they need our approval and when they do not receive it they condemn us and slander us. Ans doe some reason they see us an inept just willing to buy into their idiocy. Little do they know our faith is one that deals with logic and knowledge of Hashem which they lack!

  6. Roy -- The only thing converting a Jew to belief in Yeshu completes is the severance of the connection between them and the God of Yisra'el, and between them and Am Yisra'el. And unless they do teshuvah they will die in that state.

Plagiarizing and retro-fitting Yeshu into a partial quote from Y'shayahu 45:23 said *by* Hashem *about* Himself will not change that, nor will you and your ilk escape culpability for luring them away from God and His Torah.

  7. Roy .... Judaism IS knowledge of Ha'Shem. Christianity is a belief that a man ( a corpse actually) is a god. An equal of Ha'Shem. A co-divinity in a triune relationship.

So ..... A Question for you!

"Hear, O Israel: the L-rd is our G-d, the L-rd is one" ~ Devarim 6.4. Is Ha'Shem lying here?

    Or Here?? ......

“For which is a great nation that has Ha'Shem who is close to it, as the L-rd our G-d whenever we call to Him?” (Devarim 4:7).

“The L-rd is close to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him sincerely” (Tellihim 145:18).

“O Hearer of prayer, unto you does all flesh come” (Tellihim 65:3).

“Trust in Him at every moment, O Israel! Pour out your hearts before Him; Ha'Shem is a refuge for us, Selah” (Tellihim 62:9).

All of these words were spoken centuries before the advent of Christianity. David Ha'Melech, ~ "a man after Ha'Shem's own Heart" ~ and actually a Messiah ~ and the prophets assured us that our Father in heaven hears us & answers us if we but turn to Him with sincerity. How then can we accept the claim of a man who says “… no one cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6) ???

This dark teaching is openly refuted by the words of G-d’s prophets. It is Leading away from Truth & Torah. How can it then be gdly??? In fact one of the pointers to Falsehood is if it contradicts Torah & the Nevi'im. This 'new testament' teaching clearly does that! How can it then be true?

    Nate .... Agree Absolutely!!!!!!

  8. In the shadow of the cross by Rav Meir Kahane
    part 1
“Pidyon Shvuyin (Redemption of the Captured) takes precedence over the sustenance to the poor and their raiment. There is no greater Mitzvah than that of Pidyon Shvuyim … and he who turns his eye from redeeming him, transgresses the commandment: Thou shalt not harden thine heart and shalt not close thy hand… Thou shalt not stand idly by the blood of thy neighbor”(Rambam, Hilchos Matnos Aniyim, 8:10).
There are 100,000 of them. A tenth of a million Jews.A tenth of a million brothers and sisters. They come in terror and bewilderment, a million fears in their hearts and but one franc in their pockets. They come to the slums of Marseilles and Paris and Lyon; to the misery of ill paying, long hour employment; to the anarchy and wilderness of a non-existent communal life. They look for a synagogue and there is none, for a mikvah and none is to be found. They seek a school of Judaism for their children and their search is in vain, their call for the G-d of Israel falls on empty ears.
“They” are the Jews, refugees from Algerian terror. The land of religious anarchy they come to is France. Crushed by grinding poverty, caught within the urban slums that know no synagogue or mikvah or even kosher meat store, their bodies and souls, both hang by a thread on the market place of the common, there available to the first bidder.
Their children roam the streets. Not for them is the music of the Aleph Beis — for no Yeshiva graces their neighborhood; not for them is the melody of tradition — for no Talmud Torah has ever seen the grimy Light of the Parisian working district. Not for them is the helping hand of an established Jewish community — for they are “Shchorim,” darker skinned Jews, and wealth and assimilation flee from such “contamination”.
    The Friend
But all hope is not lost. There is indeed a friend; there is still a compassionate neighbor; there is still one who seeks to help. The shadow of this friend is cast over each home; his beneficent hand is outstretched to every family; his overtures are extended to all who but desire them. Seek shelter under my shadow, it calls. Find help here, O Jews, it calls; find help and shelter beneath my shadow – the shadow of the Cross.

  9. In the shadow of the cross by Rav Meir Kahane
    part2
The missionaries of the Church, like birds of prey they, sensing intuitively the opportunities waiting for them in this morass of poverty, misery and isolation. From house to house they come, priests and nuns, offering aid. Your child wanders the streets? We have schools and shelters and play centers for him. He lacks friends and companionship? We have games and songs and guides. He knows nothing of his holidays? Come, come to our Shavuos celebration, our Hanukah party (and perhaps also our fete de Noel). Whatever you lack — come, find it here, here in the shadow of the Cross.
These words do not come easily and the phrases are measured. When the P’eylim organization, composed of young Bnei Torah giving of their time and energy and monies for the preservation of Torah especially among the youth, came with the story of the massive missionary efforts directed against North African Jews in France, the importance of finding the proper words, of painting the true enormity of the danger, was obvious.
How to tell of the missionaries, garbed in long black coats and dignified beards, looking for all the world like roshei yeshivas, and hoping by this to deceive naïve refugees.
How to write of the apostate Feldman, the traitorous Jew, who drags down souls of gullible Jews, to the depths of conversion?
How to inform American Jews that at this moment there sit thousands within the shadow. Jewish children sitting beneath the Cross; the children of Abraham celebrating the Mass; the children of Isaac praising Mary; the children of Jacob praying the Rosary.
How to cry out to Orthodox Jews, that at this moment a Jewish soul is being destroyed. That at this moment the Torah is spurned and the Gospel adopted, the rabbi forgotten and the priest begotten.
How to reach religious Jews, we who are so full of self-satisfaction with our piety and our generosity, with our Sabbath observance and yarmulka wearing, with our synagogue attendance and UJA donation, that these souls are within our hands. How to let ourselves know, we satisfied ones, who intend to spend a pretty sum at a summer resort this year that these souls are going by default.
If there were yeshivas in Paris — the missionaries would crumble! If here were Talmud Torahs in Marseilles — the Church would fail! If there were play centers and teachers in Lyon — the Cross-would fade! And above all, let us know, we satisfied ones, that the yeshivas and the Talmud Torahs and the teachers and the centers AND THE BEDEMPTION are ours for the giving!
Pidyon Shvuyim–the redemption of the captured, whether in body or soul, tales precedence over all. But it is of course more than merely a question of whether we will respond to a Mitzvah. It is more than a men test of the capacity of the community to meet a need.
It is rather, above all, a test. It is a test of our souls, of our image. Are we indeed of the seed of Abraham — merciful and men of charity? Are we indeed worthy of the obligation implied in the name “Jew”? Are we capable of the dignity and sacrifice and holiness, which is our inheritance? In short, it is we who an on trial; our souls, our worth are weighed in the balance. May G-d save him, who is found wanting in this most crucial of tests. May our share be with him who responds to this greatest of Mitzvahs.

  10. Who believes our report? To whom is the arm of Adonai revealed? For before him he grew up like a young plant, like a root out of dry ground. He was not well-formed or especially handsome; we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us. People despised and avoided him, a man of pains, well acquainted with illness. Like someone from whom people turn their faces, he was despised; we did not value him.

In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God.
But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises we are healed.

We all, like sheep, went astray; we turned, each one, to his own way; yet Adonai laid on him the guilt of all of us.

The Word says that in the fullness of time your blinders will be lifted and you will weep.
The truth about Mashiach Yeshua will be seen by all of Israel.

  14. My dear girl, I listened to his first lesson on Yesha'Yahu 53 and I'm no theologian so I can't argue too extensively on this subject, but the only thing I can tell you is that the Ruach HaKodesh must open your heart and mind to the truth. And I can tell you for certain that replacement theology is straight out of Satan's mouth. It is part of the last days deception. Don't believe that it is part of any true Christians' idiology. As we get closer to the end, things will get stranger and more deceptive and if you keep searching, I'm sure the truth will become clear.
I will need to disagree with the Rabbi on Isaiah 53 when he said the prophecy was given by gentile kings, because like it says in 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" in both the Tanakh or the B'rit Hadashah.

    ReplyDelete
  15. There is no correlation between Tanakh & what you call B'rit Hadashah ... or 'new testament'. It simply is not scripture, but raped from our Torah/Tanakh and perverted, under the leadership & directed by your 'prophet' Paul!!

The nt carries less truth than Moby Dick or Alice in Wonderland. Not fit to be mentioned in the same sentence as Isaiah or any other text genuinely motivated or directed by Ha'Shem.

Perhaps you should listen to Tovia ~ Rabbi Singer ~ on the Rape of Torah by your "Saint" Paul. Your whole emotional trip is based on lies and falsifications. Sorry!!

I can tell you for certain that the path for Jews is by way of the 613 Mitzvot of Torah and the path for goyim is by way of the 7 Mitzvot of the Noachide Covenant. That's it!!!!

Anything else is Idle Idolatry. Harsh but True.

  17. Scientists have made new discoveries about God's creative nature over the last few years that reveal the awesome power and stretch of His abilities and genius. They have learned that there is not just one universe but multiple universes. Venus is a mere 159 million miles away from the Earth while Neptune is 3 billion miles away.

A jetliner traveling 600 miles-an-hour would take sixteen million years to reach the North Star. It would take 1,200,000 planets the size of Earth, plus 4,300,000 planets the size of the moon to fill the sun, and the sun is only a medium-sized star. These universes and stellar wonders have always existed, but scientists are just now discovering many of them.

God, however, has always known of these wonders and their intricate balance because He created them and set them all in perfect motion. The billions of newly discovered stars and planets that the scientists somehow "missed" for centuries are not new to God. He has been waiting for science to catch up.

Isaiah 7:14 states that Jesus will be born of a virgin and that His name will be called Immanuel. God inspired Isaiah to write these prophetic words 750 years before the birth of Christ. Just as He set the universes in motion, He set His plan for salvation in motion thousands of years before Mary and Joseph made their history-making trip to Bethlehem.

Jesus' glorious yet humble birth and all the events surrounding it were not random, but a thoughtfully laid out plan, unfolded in perfect detail as prophesied. God wants us to understand that the baby in the manger was none other than the God of very God.

Prayer: God, thank You for Your thoughtful plan to send Your Son to earth so that we might be saved. Thank You for the evidence in Your Word that this was not a random act, but it was careful planned by You long before it ever happened. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel" (Isaiah 7:14).

  18. Over the last 2,000 many wrongs have been committed against the Jews in the name of Christ, or Christianity. I am grieved and sorry that this is true. Even today, there are large Christian churches which do not believe that the Jews are still the Chosen People of YHVH. For this also, I am grieved and sorry. I am convinced that we are nearing the end of the age when the Jewish Messiah will be coming of his people very soon; you believe he is coming for the first time, I believe he is coming for the 2nd time. The Greek word 'Christ' means Messiah, or 'Mashiach' in Hebrew. Because these are the last days, knowledge will increase. Yeshua is the actual Hebrew name of Jesus the Jew. True Christianity is Jewish, Yeshua alone fulfilled over 300 Jewish prophecies from the Tanakh. Have you prayed to your God to show you the meaning of Isaiah 53? the suffering servant? Or do you prefer to believe the opinions of men because you believe that God won't answer you personally if you cry out to him?

Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.

When I read the Tanakh I read about how Israel again and again has turned away from God and as a result receives his wrath or judgement until Israel (the Jewish people) repent of their sin and turn back to him. Has Israel (the Jews) stopped turning away from God since the last book of the Tanakh was written?

By your lineage, you hold a special position of being a part of the cultured olive tree of Israel, entitled to the promises of God. By my faith, I am part of the branch of the wild olive tree that is grafted into the cultured olive tree of Israel. By lack of faith, branches of the cultured olive tree can be cut off, but they can also be grafted back in.

In agreement with the comment above, "replacement theology is straight out of Satan's mouth". But that is not all that Satan is responsible for these days. Satan still wants to destroy the Jews. Ahmadinejad and Khameini are proof of that.

I would be foolish to think that I could convert you. You're a woman of strong convictions. Being able to see that Yeshua is part of One God is between you and Ruach HaKodesh (another separate part of the same 'One God' you already believe in). The best analogy I've heard is that the trinity of 3 aspects of God in 1 is like water; water can be ice, liquid or vapor, yet all 3 are still water.
